What to wear to an internship interview?
NYCGal55 asked:
I was told to “come in” and meet with the CEO and a few co-workers of St. Jude’s Hospital communicational department (I am applying for a Public Relations internship at St. Jude’s), so I’m not quite sure if it’s an interview or not. I am very fashion-savvy, and wanted to wear a pair of nicely, tailored denim-slacks (not blue jeans) with a simple black tanktop and a white blazer coat to wear over the tank. Although this outfit is casual, it looks professional. I would also wear a pair of black pointy flats. What do you think of this? Because I would be working in the communicational department, I would not be in the hospital..and I am a college student, so do you think this outfit is appropriate? Thanks everyone!

If you have a more sophisticated pair of slacks in cotton or cotton/linen blend, then wear those. It might be too warm for gabardine.
If not, then be sure to wear some classic jewelry. (ex. pearl studs or a nice ring)

Create a video blog…instantly.
That sounds fine to me…
except I would go for black pants instead of the denim.

1] No denim, even if they are not jeans, for an interview
2] No white blazer in a hospital! Half the staff wears them.
Wear simple slacks or skirt [ not too short ];the top and shoes are good; wear a jacket – but not the white one.
3] neatly groomed hair
4] flattering makeup
5] no noisy or dangly jewelry for interviews
6] well manicured hands
7] turn off your cell phone!

no denim of any sort.
a hospital is a conservative place.
even if you are in communications.
wear a suit.
look professional..don’t dress like an intern.
the outfit you would like to wear..would be fine..for the fashion industry.
