I found out at the last minute that I needed a suit for this function that I will be attending. I didn’t have time to have a suit taylored so I needed to buy seperates. I bought a nice grey jacket, but I couldn’t find matching pants in my size. I have a nice pair of black dress pants at home. Is it ok to wear a Grey Jacket, Shirt/Tie, and Black slacks or will I look stupid?

French Blue shirt with vertical stripes. The stripes look light grey @ a distant, but are actually consist of three threads: White/Black/White.

So, being a typical guy being unable to match I wore a Maroon tie that had very thin medium blue and grey stripes. The stripes weren’t vertical or horizontal and there were very few of them. They were diagonal and not in a pattern.

Did I look like a goof or not?!

- Navy Blazer
- Gray Slacks
- White, Black and Blue Dress Shirts
- Brown and Black Shoes

Main question is if blue/gray is ok, or should i just wear the black dress shirt. Suggestions please.
