Is this school uniform fair?

jvc1821 asked:

First let me say that I live in California and it sometimes gets very hot in my uniform. I am a high school boy and this is my school uniform:
Navy Blue or Black Blazer(has to stay on all the time but you are sometimes allowed to take it off in class)
White or blue oxford shirt(most people wear white)
Tie
Navy blue black or gray dress pants
Black shoes(dress)
Black or Khaki socks
The uniform for girls is similar but they don’t have to wear a tie and can wear skirts but and they have to wear a white shirt and a navy blue blazer. (It’s still not very different)
In spring/fall you are allowed to take your blazer off in class if you want to
We have AC
It is a private school

I’ve come across far stricter. You/ your folks chose the school, you have to abide by the rules. Simple as. If you can’t hack it, go to a normal school not a snob one.

My son had a similar school uniform when he was in So Cal private school…not a blazer, because he was younger, but a crewneck sweatshirt much of the time. He was allowed to take the sweatshirt off anytime he was outside running around, but otherwise, he had it on.

It’s not unreasonable…it’s actually not that far off of the dress codes of most offices in California. Actually, I think the dress code of the office I worked in was pretty similar, except we could wear whatever (conservative) colors we wanted to.
