Is this school uniform fair?
jvc1821 asked:
First let me say that I live in California and it sometimes gets very hot in my uniform. I am a high school boy and this is my school uniform:
Navy Blue or Black Blazer(has to stay on all the time you are sometimes allowed to take it off in class)
White or blue oxford shirt
Tie
Navy blue or black pants
Black shoes(dress)
Black or Khaki socks
If it gets very hot you are allowed to take off your blazer but that is only if it goes above 85 or something high like that
The uniform for girls is similar but they don’t have to wear a tie and can wear skirts but and they have to wear a white shirt and a navy blue blazer. (It’s still not very different)
Yeah we do have AC
For taking it off we are allowed to in some classes and if it gets very hot
In the winter the uniform is not that bad but in the spring it gets very hot
In the spring/summer months we can usually remove our blazer in class but have to keep it on when outside of class. Also for lunch we can take it off.

theres nothing wrong with a uniform but a blazer? in califorina!? they really need to rething this. maybe you and some people who have the same opinion should write the school board about makeing a cooler uniform and letting the blazer be an optinal thing in the summer/spring months.
some people take power too far.

Well from personal experience i do know what it is like to wear uniform. I wore it from kindergarten to 6th grade. I wore exactly the same thing as the girls but no pants just skirts, and where i lived, it got very cold for us, but in your case, i do see where ur coming from about the blazers especially in the heat. Your school obviously has a very strict dress code and thats ok, because they are teaching etiquette. As long as your school has A/C, and your allowed to take it off, then i believe its fair.

that is unfair. I would tell my parents to do something about it. Plan B: get everyone who disagrees with the dress code to sign a letter to the principal. And maybe includes new ideas for a reasonable uniform.

Do you live in Socal or the eastbay?
Anyways living in Cali that’s harsh. Even Asian schools have different uniforms for spring and winter because of the temperature differences. Also, they allow for any kind of shoe (for comfort reasons)
