I need opinions on the groom and groomsmen in jeans and chocolate brown blazers?
mstyblueyz asked:
Our wedding and reception are both in the same room. The ceremony starts at 6pm. It is the second wedding for both of us so we arent spending a lot of money. Also, our wedding party are friends raising families and we know they dont have a lot to spend either. Our colors are Chocolate brown with cream and touches of blue. The room will be set elegant but casual. The bridesmaids are wearing a chocolate brown dress of thier choice. I want them to pick something they would wear again. We are thinking of my fiance and his groomsmen wearing jeans with cream shirts and chocolate brown blazers. This would prevent them from having to spend a lot on a tux rental and we would get a combination of elegance and comfiness as well. We dont want to go completely formal. Any ideas or opinions?

Anytime someone is in jeans at a wedding it is TACKY! I understand you trying to save money, but couldn’t they wear suits instead. As for the bridesmaids i think its great letting them pick the dress but they should be in similar lentgh so it doesn’t look too weird. I hope you have a great wedding, and please, please reconsider the jeans.

It sounds completely cool. Just make sure the groomsmen understand that they should keep their pants UP. So many men these days wear their jeans hanging off of their butts that boxers are a fashion statement on their own.

If that’s how you want to have your wedding, then it’s perfectly fine! Because you are color coordinating everything, it sounds like it will look really nice even with it being so casual. It’s nice that you have really considered your friends’ feelings and finances. If you decide later that you want to dress things up a tad, you could have the groomsmen wear khaki pants instead. Good luck!

I don’t think that will look nice inside. Maybe you could get away with it if the wedding was outside.

Jeans sounds great, DEFINITELY not tacky. And good for you for letting the bridesmaids have a say in what they wear, it’s a pity there aren’t more considerate brides like you.

that is a GREAT idea!! i love it!!! for my wedding, we went ‘casual’ too. the groom and groomsmen all wore khaki pants and a button up short sleeve shirt. we even put on our invitations “casual attire please” and all of our guests came dressed casual too. i think that would look great – the jeans and chocolate brown blazers. go for it!! don’t let anyone talk you out of it!

dont know about jeans – depends how about cream jeans (or cream slacks would be much better – doesnt have to be a full suit) for the men – that hint of blue u were talking about in the shirt (if not cream too) and then the chocolate brown tie and blazer.
or brown bottoms and cream blazer?
Defo not blue jeans though.
good luck

It’s your wedding…do what YOU want to do…don’t let someone else decide for you.

instead of jeans why dont you guys do khakis? I agree with #1 answer that jeans at a wedding are tacky. With the girls wearing dresses of their chose make sure they match and arent different browns. good luck

I think its a great idea! Be you so you can always remember how unique the 2 of you were at the time you got married. Sure, your view may change, but you will always have a wedding to remember! I myself am wearing a bridal dress, but I am changing into a cute little vintage sundress that my mom is making for me for the reception — with flip flops

no no no jeans, if your BM’s are wearing dresses then at least have the guys wear khakis. and have them buy matching ones. that’s something they will wear again.
