Clothes to a semi formal?

I’m a guy going to a high school semi formal dance. I was wondering if a dark, navy blue blazer and tan pants would be ok. Or the same blazer only with navy blue pants that don’t exactly match. Which one is better? I don’t have a suit so I need something that at least matches! And if none of these are good, could you suggest a quick fix? Thanks!

I think the blazer might be a little too much, try a nice polo with the tan pants or a just a white button up

A lot of guys take off their jackets once they get to the dance… As a girl, I always thought it was kind of random to bring it if you’re not gonna wear it, but then again I guess we take off our heels to dance!
I think navy blue and tan would probably be okay, but I’m no expert on guys’ fashion!
